“He himself had slain seventy-five men, Arabs, with his own hand in battle: and never a man except in battle.”

-T.E. Lawrence (in reference to a fellow officer)

The Jordanian armed forces still carry the name “Arab Army”.  Since Lawrence’s days advising Abdullah and his Arab Revolt this name has referred to the foot soldiers who give their lives up to the will of the Hashemites and the Arab nation.  Jordan currently supplies the third highest number of peacekeeping forces to the United Nations.  I’ve learned this is a necessary income for The Kingdom as well as being an essential humanitarian cause.

Jordan is also the third highest recipient of American foreign aid behind Israel and Egypt.

Thought this would brighten everyone’s day like it does mine. I dare you not to be infected by this smile.  Remind me to record some of my newfound monarchism on here someday.

cheerfully,
